There's very little to go on there, but the SOCKET error is one that
comes up fairly regularly - a trawl of the list archives will give you
details on the problems others have seen.
Nearly always the error indicates a problem between you and the remote
host. The only things you can do is:
1) Get fetchmail to log via syslog so you can actually see the delays invol=
ved
2) Check your connectivity to the mail server (ping will give you a
*very* rough idea)
3) Try another dialup ISP to confirm that it is MCI that is the problem.
