Mary Ann,
Try saving the attachment before opening. Outlook often refuses to open
certain attachments that are known to contain viruses. By saving it
first and then opening it you should be able to get around Outlook
Express' safety checks. It is also a good idea to make sure that you
are actually attaching the document, not dragging and dropping it into
the body of the email. I have sent and received a number of
spreadsheets and word documents using CCIL without a problem. Best of
